Birthday parties – they’re fun for kids and lot of work for parents.  But when you hear giddy screams and laughter by all the party goers, it makes it all worthwhile. Remember too that just because your kids will be the ones having all the fun doesn’t excuse them from helping; get them involved.

To make the day go smoothly, do as much ahead of time as possible. Prepare all the party favors and games/activities a couple weeks ahead.  Yes, that’s weeks ahead; that way you can save food preparations and house cleaning for days ahead.

Do yourself a favor and ask a good friend, family member or neighbor to help with the party. This is no time to try to be a hero and do it solo. Consider asking a neighborhood teenager; offer to pay for his/her time. It will go a long way in relieving some of the stress.
